Dear Baseball Families,

Southeast Elite – Hamptons / Southeast Elite NY LTD is a Baseball Tournament Team here in East Hampton.  The focus of this team is on player development and fundamentals by way of high-quality practices.  We are a branch of Southeast Elite Baseball. The Southeast Elite Baseball Program was founded in Massachusetts by my past teammate and lifelong friend, Javier Marichal. Javier is the nephew of Hall of Fame pitcher Juan Marichal. Juan Marichal’s signature high leg kick and unorthodox delivery made him one of the most recognizable pitchers in the history of baseball. In fact, the Elite logo was inspired by Juan’s iconic motion. The program framework was already built and ready to plug into East Hampton, which made the startup process fully compliant from day one.  We are the very first expansion of Southeast Elite Baseball outside its hometown.   We will not be joining any leagues and therefore have no intention of competing for players with any existing travel teams.  We instead participate in a handful of weekend tournaments throughout the year.  

My love for the game motivates me to want to bring something meaningful to the entire East Hampton baseball community. My intention is to work with, not against what already exists. I would like to strengthen the baseball culture from Little League all the way to the high school level.  At its core, this program is about expanding access. There is already a game heavy team in place. This team will be more about practicing and training. Together, we can raise the level of baseball for this community. 

The commitment level is high. I expect that all players attend most practices, but know that there will be exceptions. Participation in other programs is encouraged.  I want to teach discipline and commitment to the game all while keeping it fun and age appropriate to 10–12-year-olds. I will hold these young players to similar standards that they can expect in higher levels of playing should they continue. This team travels! We plan to play in out-of-state tournaments which will require hotel stays and travel expenses at a cost to each family.
